The Halfmoon variety is defined by its extreme finnage. Because Halfmoon Bettas have such heavy, delicate fins, they need a gentle water flow. Use a sponge filter or a filter with an adjustable intake to prevent them from being pushed around. They also love a “Betta Hammock” (a broad-leafed plant like an Anubias or a silk leaf) placed near the surface where they can rest their long fins and take a nap!
